About LidoDiVenezia.com

An independent guide to Venice’s beach island, written for people who want more than a day on the sand.

LidoDiVenezia.com exists because the Lido deserves better than a line in a Venice guidebook. It is an independent travel guide covering the Lido, Malamocco, the Alberoni, Pellestrina and the lagoon around them — written to be genuinely useful before you go and while you are there.

What we cover

  • How to reach the Lido from Venice, the airport and the mainland, with real journey times and fares.
  • Which tours are worth booking, ranked honestly and updated as ratings change.
  • The beaches, the Film Festival, the Belle Époque hotels and the Liberty villas.
  • Where to stay, and how the Lido compares with central Venice as a base.
  • When to come, and what each month actually feels like on the island.

How we research

Timetables, fares, prices and rules — including the Venice access fee — are checked against official sources, transport operators and booking platforms, and reviewed regularly. Tour ratings and review counts come directly from GetYourGuide; hotel data from Trip.com. Where a figure varies — beach prices, taxi fares, seasonal timetables — we give a range and say so, rather than pretending to a precision that does not exist.

Where we express an opinion, it is an opinion. We tell you when a tour is overpriced, when a free beach is better than a paid one, and when a building is closed.

How the site is funded

We are a GetYourGuide affiliate partner and a Trip.com partner. If you book a tour or a room through a link on this site, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. That is the only way this guide is funded — there is no advertising, no sponsored placements and no paid inclusion in any ranking. Read the full affiliate disclosure.

Corrections

Timetables change, beach establishments change hands, rules are updated every year. If something here is out of date or wrong, please tell us — we would rather fix it than defend it. Write to us on the contact page.

Plan your days on the Lido

Beach in the morning, Venice by afternoon

The Lido is fifteen minutes by vaporetto from St Mark’s. Pair a day on the sand with a lagoon cruise, a bike ride to Malamocco or a trip to Murano and Burano — compare and book in a couple of taps.
